Our First Plant Bingo Night
When we first floated the idea of hosting Plant Bingo Night at The Treehouse Creative, we had one major thought:
Wait… is plant bingo actually a thing?
Turns out, not only is it a thing, it’s a wildly fun thing.
Our third event at The Treehouse Creative officially became our largest event to date, selling out with 32 amazing humans joining us for a night of houseplants, prizes, laughter, and unexpected new friendships. What started as a quirky idea quickly turned into one of our favorite nights yet.
The funniest part? Not a single person running the event, including Phil and myself, had ever played plant bingo before.
So truly, we were all learning together.
A Room Full of Plant Lovers (and Curious Beginners)
As guests arrived, the room quickly filled with cozy energy, chatter, snacks, drinks, and plenty of curiosity about what exactly the night had in store.
Some attendees came with friends, partners, or family, while others showed up solo, something we’re seeing more and more at Treehouse events (which we secretly love). By the end of the night, though, nobody really felt like strangers anymore.
That’s one of our favorite things about these evenings: watching people bond over shared interests, laugh together, and walk away feeling a little more connected than when they arrived.
And apparently? Plants are a very effective bonding strategy.
Throughout the evening, guests competed to win an assortment of houseplants and plant-themed prizes while simultaneously trying to learn a thing or two about the greenery in front of them. Conversations bounced around the room:
“What kind of plant is that?”
“How do you even keep that alive?”
“Wait… am I pronouncing this correctly?”
Spoiler alert: most of us were not.
“Begoniiiiaaaa”
Every event seems to develop its own inside joke, and Plant Bingo’s unofficial mascot quickly became one very memorable word:
Begonia.
Somewhere along the way, it became Phil’s absolute favorite plant name to dramatically announce during bingo calling. After enough laughs, and several wildly creative pronunciation attempts, it was unanimously decided that Phil was now the official and only authorized person allowed to call “Begonia” when drawn.
Frankly, nobody else delivered it with the same level of commitment.
It’s the kind of random moment that probably sounds ridiculous out of context, but somehow became one of the funniest parts of the night.
More Than Just Bingo
Sure, people came to win plants (and trust us, there were some very excited winners heading home with new leafy friends), but the best part of the night had nothing to do with prizes.
It was the energy in the room.
Thirty-two people gathered in a cozy loft space to talk plants, laugh, swap stories, cheer each other on, and simply enjoy being around other humans.
People traded plant care advice, confessed to accidentally killing previous houseplants, celebrated bingo wins like lifelong friends, and lingered long after the final round ended.
These are the moments that remind us why we built The Treehouse in the first place.
We wanted to create a space that felt warm, welcoming, creative, and just a little magical, a place where strangers could become friends and where people could leave feeling more connected than when they arrived.
Plant Bingo somehow checked every box.
So… We’re Making It a Monthly Thing
After a sold-out event, countless laughs, and more enthusiasm than we expected, the decision was pretty easy:
Plant Bingo is officially becoming a monthly event.
We’ll bring the plants, prizes, and cozy vibes.
You bring your competitive spirit and your best attempt at pronouncing plant names.
(Though fair warning: Phil may still reserve exclusive rights to Begonia.)
To the 32 incredible people who joined us for our biggest event yet, thank you. Thank you for showing up, embracing something a little quirky, laughing with us, and helping make this such an unexpectedly wonderful evening.
This Treehouse community keeps growing in the best possible ways, and we’re so excited to keep creating experiences that bring people together.
See you at the next Plant Bingo 🌿
